Regional Phase Propagation Examples

In the examples below seismograms and propagation paths are color coded. Red indicates the absence or blockage of the indicated arrival (Lg or Sn) while blue indicates strong arrivals. The most significant observation is that Lg can propagate up to 5000 km within continental Africa but is severely diminished when crossing into the Mediteranean Sea.
