Dr. Kent Lindquist

Effective March 1st, 2002, I have resigned my position with the Alaska Earthquake Information Center to open Lindquist Consulting. The AEIC web-pages for Kent Lindquist, below, are no longer being maintained.

I am a seismologist in the Seismology Lab at the Geophysical Institute, University of Alaska Fairbanks. My activities include research; implementation and development of acquisition and processing software and techniques; fieldwork; and various other aspects of maintaining a real-time, 24-hour emergency-response-capable seismic lab.

Research

Near-real-time, automated seismological processing

Seismic array processing for regional earthquake monitoring

Three-dimensional seismic wavefield modelling via pseudospectral techniques

Various topics in Alaskan seismology

Infrasonic Propagation for CTBT applications

Alaska PEPP Project

Software and Software Development

I have spent a significant amount of time on software development. The focus has been on real-time seismic data acquisition, near-real-time seismic data processing, waveform and parametric data archival, and specific tasks related to earthquake and volcano monitoring. Together with my colleagues at the University of Alaska, I have put extensive effort into creating a computational environment that is highly supportive of large-batch regional seismic network processing and of scientific research in geophysics.
